The Victorian Government will continue to review stakeholder feedback and progress the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Psychological Health) Regulations (proposed regulations) in early 2023.

WorkSafe and the Victorian Government would like to acknowledge the significant contributions of key stakeholders in the development of the proposed regulations.

WorkSafe will continue to work with the Victorian Government to progress the proposed regulations as they recognise hazards that pose a risk to psychological health are no less harmful to employees’ safety and wellbeing than physical hazards.

Further time is needed to consider feedback received via the extensive Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) process. This process resulted in considerable feedback from unions, employers and community groups. Again, WorkSafe and the Victorian Government are grateful for this feedback, which was in relation to a range of matters.

WorkSafe will also continue to work with the Victorian Government to develop the proposed Psychological health compliance code (the code), supporting guidance and practical tools concurrently with the proposed regulations.
