There will be changes to prescribed fees and on the spot fines as of 2 June 2018 with the introduction of the new Building Regulations 2018.

Attached below is a table of fees summarising these changes.

Further changes will occur as of 1 July 2018 given the Treasurer of Victoria has gazetted the fixed fees for both the fee unit and penalty unit.

Note:    Fee unit $14.45
Penalty unit $ 161.19

NOTE:   As of 2 June 2018 the lodgement fee will  be relevant to all Building Permit lodgements to Council (the cost of $5000 will no longer be a determining factor)

Further matters that need to be considered are the fines associated where there a re clear breaches to a number of provisions of the Building Regulations which allow on the spot fines to be issued.
