Waterproofing – External

This waterproof training course has been designed to educate the personnel involved in the planning or designing stage of a project, assist in the selection of materials and methods, and the application of various types of waterproofing mediums used in construction. This course is delivered by Master Builders Association of Victoria (RTO no 3935), designed in consultation with the Australian Institute of Waterproofing.

Course Overview

There are three face-to-face information sessions in this non-accredited course and upon successful completion of each session, participants will receive a Statement of Attendance from Master Builders Association of Victoria (RTO no 3935)for participating in this course.

Who is this course designed for?

Waterproofing in Construction is a waterproof training course designed for building practitioners, waterproofers, ceramic tilers, architects, engineers, electricians, plumbers, air conditioning and solar panel installers, designers, building surveyors, site managers, foreman, estimators, and other industry professionals who have responsibility to ensure a construction project is made watertight and shall perform correctly for a given period of time (min 10 years).

Waterproofing training course overview

This waterproof training course gives a practical common sense approach to utilise the Australian Standards at hand and apply the everyday practicable mentality to waterproofing.

Attendees will see examples of both good and bad waterproofing to aid in their understanding of projects that have failed and the reasons for the failure, thus learning from other’s mistakes and how to avoid them.

The Open Communication encouraged in this course amongst industry speakers and participants is a very useful way to gain information.

Session 2 – External Waterproofing – Decks and Planter Boxes

This session covers compliance to standards and practical application techniques. It includes deck types, door sill and vertical terminations, treatment of movement joints and penetrations, falls and drainage, outfalls, planter box requirements and application certificate
