Master Builders Association Victoria is pleased to announce that we have a new qualification on offer – the CPC50210 Diploma of Building & Construction (Building).

This course is an alternative to the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Building) when looking at registration pathways for your builder’s licence.

The CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) encompasses the knowledge areas that may be required when seeking registration.

As with all Master Builders courses, it is expected that students wishing to undertake this course meet minimum entry requirements:

  • Be successful at a language, literacy and numeracy (LLN ) assessment,  a pre-enrolment interview;
  • have three years of work experience in building and construction OR/AND;
  • have CPCCOHS1001A Work Safely in the construction industry if working on a building and construction site prior to course commencement.

All students will be required to complete an application and pre-training interview. At the pre-training interview, we need to verify that you have the amount and type of work experience that will enable you to successfully complete the Master Builders course.

How will studying the new CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) affect your registration process?

Should a DB-U applicant provide certified evidence that they have a diploma, associate diploma or degree in Building and Construction (Building) accredited under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 they will not need to sit the computer-based test/plan-checking exercise. Applicants will still be assessed in a face-to-face interview.

Credit transfer is available for the Diploma. You can view a list of these units on the course information sheet by clicking here.

If you have been considering studying again, but are hesitant because you are not sure if your study skills are up to scratch, Master Builders offers learning support to those students who require assistance in completing their course assessments and requirements. A range of support services is available to students who experience literacy, digital literacy and numeracy difficulties.

Limited spots are available in Group 1 starting in May. The next Group 2 will be commencing in September. Contact Master Builders Training Department on (03) 9411 4555 or visit mbavtraining.com.au to enrol or for further information.
