August is Tradie Health Month (TNHM) in Australia.

WorkSafe is running a campaign this month that aims to build awareness around the health and safety of tradies, with a strengthened focus on messaging about musculoskeletal disorders – a key priority area for construction.

The goal of this campaign is to encourage employers in trade-based industries to take advantage of WorkSafe’s free tools and services to build both physically and mentally safe workplaces.

Specifically, WorkSafe aims to: 
1.Drive registrations to the WorkWell Toolkit 
2.Drive applications to the OHS Essentials Program 
3.Increase knowledge and awareness of musculoskeletal disorders

Audience: Business leaders and employers within Trade-based industries 

The campaign will run from 1 – 30 August 2021 focusing on a new topic each week.

Week 1: Intro to Tradie Health Month with focus on mental health and the WorkWell Toolkit

Week 2: Focus on musculoskeletal injuries for tradies and ways to prevent them 

Week 3: Focus on OHS Essentials program including video case study

Week 4: Summarising importance of a mentally and physically safe workplace 

The campaign will use WorkSafe channels such as newsletters, WorkSafe social media and stakeholder channels such as Reece, Tradelink and Bunnings.
