As you may have read in our updates and no doubt seen through the media this week, on Sunday the Victorian Government will unveil a roadmap for easing of restrictions.

The Government has engaged Master Builders Victoria, along with other employer associations and unions this week on the draft roadmap specific to our industry.

We have collectively put forward to Government a sensible path back to full capacity, allowing our industry to gradually return to a COVID-normal, while also being mindful of broader responsibilities to community health around movement of people.

What has been put to Government is based on the concerns we hear from you, our members, every day, and we thank you for the engagement which informs all that we’ve been doing during this period.

We do not know what Sunday will bring from the Government, but we will bring you the information as we get it via this bulletin. This will start with an overview of the announcement and the most relevant matters on Sunday, before daily updates on the detail which will be based on your questions.

We will also be clear on what applies to Greater Melbourne members, and what applies to Regional members.

Our industry has had a very good CovidSafe record for the last six months, and we are confident that it can meet all requirements of whatever is announced in the roadmap on Sunday.

Your proactive work has put our sector in a position that is advanced of many other industries.

This ongoing diligence will help our sector back to full capacity when the data allows it to, but in the meantime lets continue to lead our community on that front. It certainly has been positively noted in our talks with Government.

We will be in touch with you all over the weekend, with the expectation of some clarity on the short-term future of our industry, until then, stay well and stay safe.

Best wishes, Rebecca
