MBV would like to remind members that as of Saturday 13 November, all workers are required to be double-vaccinated in order to be on-site.

Further to the release of the new Industry COVID-19 Guidelines (Revision 15), (which came into effect Friday 12 November 2021), the Victorian Dept. of Health has provided a clarification regarding on-site Density Quotients:

Construction sites are generally considered non-publicly accessible spaces and are currently subject to a density quotient of one person per two square metres (DQ2). However, if the space is publicly accessible or a shared space (such as a crib room), a density quotient of one person per four square metre applies.

Industry COVID-19 Guidelines (Revision 15)

The Victorian Government has announced an end to wide-scale lockdowns and most COVID-19 restrictions as a result of achieving the vaccination milestones in accordance with the National Plan. We are now in a lower risk environment and accordingly, workforces have resumed full capacities subject to a small number of COVID Normal practices.

Revision 15 of the Industry Guidelines provides important guidance and recommendations which are undoubtedly the world’s best practices, demonstrably keeping our industry as safe and open as was possible during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia in 2020 and again in 2021.

Further updates and revision may come into effect as we approach the vaccination targets for our State.

As our industry continues to remain fully operational, it is important that as an industry we maintain this high standard of countermeasures against the virus on our worksites by the continued implementation of the Industry COVID-19 Guidelines.

We would also like to advise members that if you, or a member of your workforce, show any COVID like symptoms, please get tested as soon as possible. Getting tested for even mild symptoms is a safer alternative than taking a risk and potentially incurring a worksite shutdown.
