The Victorian government is reminding labour-hire business that they have until 30 October 2019 to register for the government’s new accreditation scheme or face significant penalties.

From 30 October, only labour-hire providers who are licensed or are awaiting an application decision will be allowed to operate in Victoria.

Providers were given six months to transition to the scheme, with penalties to kick in after the October deadline. Host employers who use an unlicensed provider face a maximum fine of more than $500,000 for each breach, while unlicensed providers will also face fines in excess of $500,000 per breach.
