The State Government has announced the launch of its third stage of the Small Business Regulation Review, this time with a focus on the construction sector, to identify opportunities to improve the interaction between small businesses and regulators.

The review will involve consulting with stakeholders such as Master Builders to identify regulatory burdens that affect small businesses in the construction sector. The review has also partnered with the following regulators to aid them in their review:

• Energy Safe Victoria
• Environment Protection Authority Victoria
• Victorian Building Authority
• Worksafe Victoria

As part of the review, small businesses have the opportunity to provide feedback on how regulations affect their business via the Construction Business Survey. You have until 6 July to complete the survey and have the option to be in a draw to win an Ipad and case.

The review will also conduct a series of forums and consultations with small businesses. The key dates are:
• Small Business Forum – CBD: 4.30-6.30pm, Tuesday 19 June 2018
• Small business consultation – Geelong: 4.30-6.30pm, Thursday 21 June 2018
• Regulator and Industry Forum: 3.30-5.00pm, Tuesday 26 June 2018
