Five Victorian building regulators are taking part in a joint inspection program across building, construction and demolition sites in the cities of Moreland, Hume, Whittlesea and Darebin, to check whether operators are complying with the law.

Build Aware is a week-long event involving the Victorian Building Authority, WorkSafe, Consumer Affairs Victoria, Energy Safe and the Environment Protection Authority.

The program aims to ensure that people working on sites understand their obligations to comply with building, construction, environment, plumbing and occupational health and safety laws and regulations.

Inspectors will visit sites from Monday 28 May to Friday 1 June, to check that workers are complying with the laws and regulations administered by their authorities.

Should you have any concerns with the VBA, you can obtain assistance from Master Builders’ Building Services or Legal  departments; for issues with WorkSafe please contact the OHS unit on (03) 9411 4555.
