How do I pay outstanding invoices?

Outstanding invoices can be paid online but logging in to your Member Portal. Alternatively, you can pay via BPAY using the details at the bottom of your invoice, or pay over the phone by calling our Assist Team on 03 9411 4555.

I’ve lost my membership card. How do I order a new one?

To order a new membership card please complete and return this form.

How do I update my postal address, and other personal details?
Most personal details can be updated by logging in to your Member Portal at www.mbav.com.au. If you are unsure of your log in details, or would like to discuss the changes, please call our Assist Team on (03) 9411 4555.
How do I remove old employees/add new employees?

If you would like to remove employees from your membership account or add new employees, please complete and return this form.

How do I apply to become a member?
If you are interested in becoming a member you can apply online using this link. Alternatively, if you have questions to ask and would prefer to talk with your local Area Representative, call us on 03 9411 4555.
What information do I need supply when applying for membership?
Master Builders carries out background checks on all membership applicants. These include Fit to Work, credit checks and professional references. How do I sign the online application form?

There is no requirement to sign the online form – agreeing to the declarations is sufficient and legally binding.

Who is the Master Builders Association of Victoria?

Master Builders Victoria was established in 1875 by a group of distinguished builders, intent on raising standards within the industry. You can find out more in the About Us section of this website.

What does the Master Builders Association of Victoria do?

We continually assist in developing the skills of our members by providing access to a wide range of services, an impressive degree of recognition, as well as representation to government and industry. Master Builders also serves the public of Victoria by fostering best practice work standards.

Who are our members?

Of the many people employed in construction in Victoria, a broad range are accepted as members of Master Builders. These members cover all areas of construction. Most will carry out domestic and commercial work, and range from apprentices, sole traders and family run businesses, to some of Australia’s largest companies. Our members also include suppliers to the construction industry and associated professions like architects and engineers.

What do I get from being a member of the Master Builders Association of Victoria?

There are many benefits to being a Master Builder, and what our members value most often depends on their own circumstances. From large commercial, to small family run domestic builders, or people starting out as apprentices, Master Builders offers a range of advice, training and, products and services that will help you and your business thrive. I have a problem with a builder I have been dealing with. Can you help me?

Construction projects are often complicated but clear communication between the builder and client will normally prevent major difficulties from occurring. If you do have concerns with the conduct of a Master Builder, please see our complaints policy to see what steps you are able to take to resolve these concerns.

What do I need to use the Member Portal?

You need internet access and an email address to use the Member Portal. Your email and the password will be used to verify your identity each time you sign in, so it is important to remember this information and keep it secure.
