About the winning project
The Northeast Health Wangaratta Redevelopment project included the demolition and extension of the new Short Stay Unit, consisting of eight new patient beds; demolition and extension of the new Emergency Department, consisting of 10 new patient beds, ambulance triage, isolation rooms and separate anti-ligature behavioral assessment room; construction of the new Intensive Care Unit, consisting of 12 new patient rooms, two new negative pressure rooms, office and training spaces; demolition and extension of the new Paediatric and Medical Ward, consisting of nine new medical patient rooms, 10 new Paediatric rooms, three negative pressure rooms and a bariatric room, designed to house patients up to 300kg. and the internal redevelopment of the existing Maternity Ward, consisting of a new workroom and reception space, new birthing bath suite, refurbishment of existing nursery and general refurbishment works throughout the ward.
