About the winning project
This project was designed to reflect the clients’ passion for sustainability in construction, something that is part of their larger focus on environmental consciousness. They have chosen to retire to Bright, choosing a north-facing block in a central area of town that allows them to live a comfortable retirement, engaging in the local community and setting an example of what can be achieved in terms of a sustainable lifestyle. The clients wanted to provide an example to others about how housing can be energy efficient without compromising design possibilities or the level of finish internally.
