About the winning project

The vision for this project was to build a family home to cater for a family of four, with a guest bedroom and third bathroom. The cinema room was also designed to act as a second lounge room for the family. The aim was also to enable working from home for both adults, in which two office/study spaces were included in the project design. There was also a focus on achieving high energy efficiency through double external walls, insulation and the addition of solar panels with all electric appliances being purchased for this home. The outdoor entertaining area was uniquely designed for the home to achieve a large proportion of privacy from neighbouring properties.
