About the winning project

The scope for our Cook House project was to create a new, completely off grid, large family home to accommodate a family of six. The project involved working with materials that would achieve a BAL – 29 rating but be practical, affordable and aesthetically pleasing. The home is split into two distinctly different areas with a children’s wing and the parents retreat. The client favoured recycled red bricks which set perfectely against natural Victorian ash cladding and endseam cladding. The fitments to the home to accommodate for the clients’ child that has dwarisim. This included lower vanities, toilets, and special steps in the kitchen built into the kick rails for access to the benchtops.
