About the winning project
Kane Constructions’ Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre project involved the design and construction of one of Australia’s first 6-star Greenstar aquatic facility. A 6-star rating was achieved by removing the traditional reliance on gas and replacing with electrical heat pumps that harness the sun, providing renewable energy during the day, with Renewable Power Purchasing Agreement providing renewably sourced power during the evening.
