Elections at MBV

MBV holds elections to appoint members to two bodies: the Electoral Council and the Board of Management.

The Electoral Council is made up of members elected from our six sector groups who go on to form our Sector Group Committees. Providing feedback and information to MBV, the sector group committees are a core part of ensuring MBV represents the needs and aims of our members.

The Board of Management is responsible for the good governance of the association and is elected by the Electoral Council from within their number. The Board is comprised of a President, Deputy President, the 6 sector committee Chairpersons, and a General Board member.

Our elections are conducted by the Australian Electoral Commission and done in accordance with our Rules, which are available here.

Positions are held for a three-year term, save where filled due to casual vacancy.

MBV has concluded Election E2023/155. This included two Chairperson positions as well as several members of the Electoral Council.
