Guest Speaker
The Hon Steve Bracks AC
Cbus Chairman, Former Premier of Victoria
Transport links and community infrastructure
generate new economic opportunities. Existing
infrastructure in Australia and across the world
is under immense pressure as populations
grow and trade increases.
Governments and cities across the world are
struggling to find affordable ways to deliver
new and improved infrastructure to their
communities.
How should governments approach our
infrastructure backlog? How should it be
funded? And what role can Australia's $1.5
trillion superannuation industry play to boost investment in our infrastructure?
Former Premier Steve Bracks will share his
unique insights on how governments can
boost construction jobs and investment
through infrastructure projects.
Mr Bracks was Premier for nearly eight
years. His government increased funding for
services and infrastructure while strengthening
Victoria's economy and pioneered efforts
to boost productivity, skills and workforce
participation as well as cut business red tape
through the National Reform Agenda.
Today, Mr Bracks is Chair of the Cbus
superannuation fund and the Industry
Superannuation Network. He led a Federal
Government review into Australia's automotive
industry and holds a range of honorary
positions, including as an adviser to the Prime
Minister of Timor-Leste and the Centre for
Dialogue at La Trobe University.
